The residential summer school was organised by Durham University’s Physics department, the charity fund Tomorrow, UAPhysicsOnline and OneUkraine gGmbH and in coordination with Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

It gave 170 students aged 13 to 17 the chance to escape the toll of war both physically and mentally for three weeks earlier this summer.
The summer camp saw the teenagers take part in STEM-focused teaching and practical experiments, as well as visiting local points of interest.
Northern Powergrid were approached as part of the summer camp business connections to help fund some of the essential costs of lunch for the students, as well as a treat and a memento.
Through their "Force for Good" initiative, Northern Powergrid aim to go beyond their network which powers peoples' everyday lives.
This includes everything from making a positive contribution to the communities Northern Powergrid work and live in, to creating a cleaner, greener energy system that everyone can benefit from.
Siobhan Barton, Head of Sustainability and Regional Engagement for Northern Powergrid, has today (Friday) expressed her gratitude at the opportunity to support the visit.
She said "We are incredibly proud to be able to support the residential summer camp during their activities here in the North East.
“At Northern Powergrid, we are working hard to building a more sustainable future for our communities, and having the ability to support the cultural learning experience of these students.
"It's important to give these children the opportunity to lead a normal life, it must be incredibly difficult to go through what they are.
"We hope the students enjoyed their visit to the North East."
Yuliia Karnas, Managing Director for OneUkraine gGmbH, said "The Tomorrow Summer School was designed to give these young people a space where they could not only heal from the trauma they've experienced but also rediscover their potential through the power of science and education.
“We are incredibly proud to see how much they’ve grown, and we believe they now have the tools to shape their future.
“We are deeply grateful to our UK donors and partners for their invaluable support in making this camp a reality."
